Nodoka-An
Nodoka-An is adjacent to another machiya: Shizuka-An. Both houses are thought for couples and have a quite cozy feeling to them.
With the name Nodoka-An, literally 'a hut of calmness', we hoped to convey our desire for our guests to find in it their quiet home in Downtown Kyoto. The house has been lovingly restored in the traditional style of an old Kyoto Teahouse. It is small, composed of one bedroom and a relaxing space that looks over a stunning Japanese moss garden.
Nodoka-An is located in Kyoto’s historical Higashiyama District, just a walk away from the downtown area and from many sightseeing spots like the Kiyomizu Temple, with its picturesque streets Ninen Zaka and Sanen Zaka, as well as two Geisha quarters: Gion and Miyagawacho. Within 10 minutes walk you can find anything you might need, from supermarkets to 24hour convenience stores and a large variety of restaurants and cafes and its also well connected by Subway and Bus lines.
